“…everywhere I look around. Love is in the air, every sight and every sound.”
It is almost spring! The flowers are blossoming, the birds are chirping, the sun is shining longer. It’s time to get out, fill your lungs with fresh rose-scented air, and scream, “What a beautiful world!!”. Spring, the season of optimism, of plentiful, of youth, of colours, of love. We live in a lucky country, a land abounds in nature’s gifts, of beauty, rich, and rare. The huge majority of us will readily agree to that. When you are happy, everything is beautiful. Be kind to people, smile and feel better yourself, and possibly, just possible, make somebody else’s life better. Spread the love. I smile to people on the streets all the time, most would smile back and say hello. Some would ignore me with the straightest of face, but so what? The smile did not cost me anything and maybe I have shown them that it is possible to be nice with no effort and maybe next time they will smile back. Even in this day and age, when our leaders actively lied to us in order to go to war (Remember Iraq? And I am being generous here, that is the most recent war that all parties have agreed that was started based on falsehood, there were countless others), we are still looking for foreign scapegoats for all our problems while we forgave those leaders who deceived us in the first place instantly. Even just this week, one of our leaders, someone we picked to put into Parliament to lead us, told us to hate a whole section of the community from his seat of power in the house of power of the nation. Late last year, Australians went to the poll in a referendum for love. Wait, that was not even a referendum, it was a plebiscite, meaning a non-binding referendum. Meaning if 50.1% of the voters had voted against allowing same-sex marriage, the matter would have been decided, done and dusted, book closed, please don’t mention THAT topic again for a decade or so. But if the voters had voted 99.9% in favour, then the matter would have gone to our dear leaders to decide. Why did we need a sit-on-the-fence referendum to decide on love, but no one ever asked us when we went to war? Such is the world we live in, such is the way of our lucky country. The world needs more love, more tolerance, more understanding. When we show love we can only spread love. Sometimes our kindness is not returned, but so what? You do not expect a return from those you are genuinely kind to. Your return is feeling good about yourself. Spread love and the love will spread on its own and it will eventually return. Likewise with hate. I know which one I want to eventually return to me. So, remember, spring is coming, everything is beautiful, it is so effortless to spread love. Smile to the people you pass on the streets. Even if a few of them think you look like a grinning idiot, at least you are a HAPPY idiot!

A customer asked me a couple of months ago for advice against evil energies. He was up front that he did not believe in metaphysical but he was at the end of his rope: his business was doing badly, his wife had left him, and he was starting to see dark matters at home. We ended up spending the whole afternoon discussing the power of crystals. I told him which crystals to put around his house and which to wear. He called me this week to let me know that his wife had returned, his business is recovering, and, most importantly, he no longer saw dark shades at home.
Evil energies exist everywhere, most are conjured up by yourself. These negative energies build up when you feel depressed, things are not going well at work or at home, somebody is mean to you, or a million other things. In life, you cannot avoid these evil energies. People deal with these energies differently and, unfortunately, some just cannot deal with them. This is where crystals can step in and help. Black Tourmaline is the most powerful crystal you can use to protect against evil energies. It will absorb them from its surrounding and protect you against their effect. Black Tourmaline will also shield you from negative people, their negative energies won’t weigh you down. White Selenite is also another very powerful protective crystal. White Selenite converts negative energies into white light to lift your spirit. It soothes your head and comforts you. A third powerful protective crystal is Tiger Eye. Ancient civilisations used Tiger Eye to protect their houses and beings. It watches over you and gives you courage. Putting these crystals around your house and wearing them as amulets can help you become a happier, more positive person. In turn, your positive energies will radiate and affect those around you, the people you love most. Everything will fall in place when you have a happy, positive environment. Ancient magicians relied upon Black Tourmaline, known as Schorl, to protect them from earth demons as they cast their spells. Today this stone is still revered as a premier talisman of protection, a psychic shield deflecting and dispelling negative energies, entities, or destructive forces. It guards against radiation and environmental pollutants, and is highly useful in purifying and neutralizing one’s own negative thoughts and internal conflicts, and turning them into positive, usable energy. Black Tourmaline is also a powerful grounding stone, electrical in nature, providing a connection between Earth and the human spirit. Its supportive energy aligns the energy centers of the body and channels healing light throughout the system. It promotes a sense of power and self-confidence, allowing for a clearer, more objective view of the world. It is empowering to those who must live or work in challenging environments or when facing difficult circumstances. Although Tourmaline may be found on every continent, fine crystal specimens and gems are still considered rare and can be quite expensive. Its vast popularity as a gemstone began in 1876, when mineralogist and jeweler George Kunz sold a Green Tourmaline from Maine to the famous Tiffany and Co. in New York, and its desirability spread. More recently it has become a favorite of metaphysical collectors and practitioners for its versatile energy properties. Tourmaline belongs to a complex family of aluminum borosilicates mixed with iron, magnesium, or other various metals that, depending on the proportions of its components, may form as red, pink, yellow, brown, black, green, blue or violet. Its prismatic, vertically striated crystals may be long and slender, or thick and columnar, and are uniquely triangular in cross-section. They often vary in coloration within a single specimen, lengthwise or in cross sections, and may be transparent or opaque. The name Tourmaline comes from an ancient Sinhalese word turmali, meaning “a mixed color precious stone,” or turamali, meaning “something small from the earth.” The most common species of Tourmaline is Schorl, which accounts for ninety-five percent of all Tourmaline in nature. It is black, or sometimes a blue so deep it appears to be black. The term Schorl was in use before the 1400s, named for a town in Saxony, Germany, where Black Tourmaline was found in nearby tin mines. Needles of Black Tourmaline, or Schorl, can also be found embedded in clear Quartz, called Tourmalinated or Tourmalated Quartz. The combination of clear white and radiant black are believed to create a perfect polarity of energies, a manifestation of light and dark forces united together for a common goal. It is regarded as a symbol of great fortune and is not carried as an ongoing charm, but when specific good luck is needed. One of Tourmaline’s most distinguishing properties is its ability to become electrically charged simply by heating or rubbing it. When charged, one end becomes positive and the other negative, allowing it to attract, or repel, particles of dust or bits of paper. This property of pyroelectricity (from heat) or piezoelectricity (from pressure or rubbing) was well-known to the Dutch traders of the 1700s who used Tourmaline to pull ash from their Meerschaum pipes, calling the stone Aschentrekker, or “ash puller.” Tourmaline is a shamanic stone, providing protection during ritual work. It can be used for scrying, and was traditionally used to point out a cause of trouble or an offender, and to indicate a good direction in which to move. [Hall, 297] To use Black Tourmaline in purification and protection rituals, create a ring of eight small natural tumblestones for a protection circle or place upon an altar. Black Tourmaline is an excellent grounding crystal for meditation and healing, and a small number of Black Tourmalines are double-terminated, ideal for body layouts. The linear flow of energies is enhanced equally in both directions along the crystalline form. Black Tourmaline soothes panic attacks, especially those caused by dark or confined spaces, or in places where the atmosphere is frightening. It also helps control fears of doctors or dentists. Wear this crystal for protection against moaners, whiners, complaining neighbors or emotional vampires who burden you with their problems but do nothing to improve their situations. In the workplace, hold Black Tourmaline for a few minutes when you need to wake up your mind or when you need full concentration. It provides an excellent shield against environmental pollutants, electromagnetic smog, and radiation associated with cell phones, computers, and other electronic equipment. [Eason, 204][Hall, 298] It is a professional support stone for miners and telephone workers. In industry, Tourmalines are highly valued as electrical tuning circuits for conducting television and radio frequencies. They are used for their durability since high frequencies can be passed through them without shattering, as many crystals do. Tourmaline strengthens the sense of smell, and in that respect, can also enhance the perception of pheromones which produces an aphrodisiac effect. Tourmaline is specifically used to treat motion sickness. It may also assist in restoring luster and shine to hair and nails. Black Tourmaline is a stone of purification, cleansing the emotional body of negative thoughts, anxieties, anger or feelings of unworthiness. It helps in overcoming substance abuse, and releases any suicidal thoughts or self-harming tendencies. It may be beneficial in treating obsessive or compulsive behaviors, and in relinquishing chronic worry. Black Tourmaline increases physical vitality, replacing tension and stress with the ability to view the world objectively with clear, rational thought and neutrality. It inspires a positive attitude, no matter the circumstances, and stimulates altruism and practical creativity. Black Tourmaline stimulates the reflex points associated with the lower back, legs, ankles and feet, and may be used to realign the spinal column. It provides pain relief and assists with strained or torn muscles, numbness, arthritis, and scar tissue. Black Tourmaline defends against debilitating disease and strengthens the immune system, heart, and adrenal glands. It also is beneficial in treating the bowels, constipation, IBS, and diseases of the colon, as well as ridding the body of heavy metal toxins and environmental pollutants. Tourmaline is a marvelous tool for balancing the right/left hemispheres of the brain and bringing mental processes into alignment with the chakras and auric body. It diminishes fear and may be useful in treating paranoia, and to overcome dyslexia by improving eye/hand coordination and the assimilation and translation of coded information. Black Tourmaline is devoted to grounding spiritual energies, bringing a clearer expression of Light into the world and into the lives of those drawn to its powers. It furthers the ability to remain radiant in the darkest of circumstances, and to maintain a spiritual consciousness while living among those who are not always in the Light and do not understand the love of the universe. Natural Tourmaline wands are considered quite special and channel a high-powered electrical energy capable of transcending physical laws and producing phenomenal healing. The positive force of these Light tools effectively clears blockages in the aura and removes negative energy. Black Tourmaline wands may be placed at the knees or feet with the terminations facing the toes to direct negative energies out of the body. They can also be used to direct energies from the crown and ethereal body to the base chakra, re-balancing the meridians of the physical body and providing an optimal balance in the ethereal body. In Hinduism and Buddhism, a chakra is an energy point or node in the subtle body. Chakras are part of the subtle body, not the physical body, and as such, are the meeting points of the subtle non-physical energy channels called nadi. Nadi are channels in the subtle body through which the life force (prana) or vital energy moves. It is believed that there are many chakras in the subtle human body, but seven major chakras are considered to be the most important ones. An imbalance among the Chakras causes a feeling of dissatisfaction, anxiety, and illness of the emotional, mental, and physical natures. Chakra therapy teaches the importance of focusing your energy in balancing the chakras. As the Chakra concept quickly spreads through Asia, and more recently, Europe, Americas, and Australia, the therapy is also adapted differently by each region. Meditation to focus on a particular Chakra is the universal practice. Yoga in India, Qigong and Tai Chi in China, and the martial art Silat in Indonesia and Malaysia are all forms of Chakra therapy and came from the original Chakra concept. New Age practices associate a specific symbol and colour to each Chakra. Holding or looking at these symbols and colours helps you focus on the specific Chakra you are trying to improve. Description of Each Chakra The seven major chakras are arranged vertically along the axial channel. Below is a description of the seven chakras, with various associations. Each of these chakras also has its elemental deity, demigod of its material element. From the top down, they are: Sahasrara Sahasrara, meaning “thousand-petaled”, or crown chakra is generally considered to be the state of pure consciousness, within which there is neither object nor subject. When the Kundalini energy rises to this point, it unites with the male Shiva energy, and a state of liberating samadhi is attained. Symbolized by a lotus with one thousand multi-coloured petals, it is located either at the crown of the head, or above the crown of the head. Sahasrara is represented by the colour white and it involves such issues as inner wisdom and the death of the body. Its role may be envisioned somewhat similarly to that of the Pineal gland. The pineal gland is a light sensitive gland that produces the hormone melatonin which regulates sleep and waking up, and is also postulated to be the production site of the psychedelic dimethyltryptamine, the only known hallucinogen endogenous to the human body. Sahasrara's inner aspect deals with the release of karma, physical action with meditation, mental action with universal consciousness and unity, and emotional action with "beingness". In Tibetan Buddhism, the point at the crown of the head is represented by a white circle, with 33 downward pointing petals. It is of primary importance in the performance of phowa, or consciousness projection after death, in order to obtain rebirth in a Pure Land. Within this state is contained the White drop, or Bodhicitta, which is the essence of masculine energy. Corresponding deity for material element of this state is Dhruva. Ajna Ajna, meaning “command”, or third-eye chakra is symbolised by a lotus with two petals, and corresponds to the colours violet, indigo or deep blue, though it is traditionally described as white. It is at this point that the two side nadi Ida (yoga) and Pingala are said to terminate and merge with the central channel Sushumna, signifying the end of duality, the characteristic of being dual (e.g. light and dark, or male and female). The seed syllable for this chakra is the syllable OM, and the presiding deity is Ardhanarishvara, who is a half male, half female Shiva/Shakti. The Shakti goddess of Ajna is called Hakini. Ajna (along with Bindu), is known as the third eye chakra and is linked to the pituitary gland which secretes hormones to communicate to the rest of the endocrine system and also connects to the central nervous system via the hypothalamus. The thalamus is thought to have a key role in the physical basis of consciousness and is the 'Bridal Chamber' mentioned in the Gnostic scriptures. Ajna's key issues involve balancing the higher and lower selves and trusting inner guidance. Ajna's inner aspect relates to the access of intuition. Mentally, Ajna deals with visual consciousness. Emotionally, Ajna deals with clarity on an intuitive level. Vishuddha Vishuddha, meaning “especially pure”, or throat chakra is depicted as a silver crescent within a white circle, with 16 light or pale blue, or turquoise petals. The seed mantra is Ham, and the residing deity is Panchavaktra shiva, with 5 heads and 4 arms, and the Shakti is Shakini. Vishuddha may be understood as relating to communication and growth through expression. This chakra is paralleled to the thyroid, a gland that is also in the throat and which produces thyroid hormone, responsible for growth and maturation. Physically, Vishuddha governs communication, emotionally it governs independence, mentally it governs fluent thought, and spiritually, it governs a sense of security. In Tibetan buddhism, this chakra is red, with 16 upward pointing petals. It plays an important role in Dream Yoga, the art of lucid dreaming. Corresponding deity for material element of this chakra is Dyaus. Anahata Anahata, meaning “unstruck”, or heart chakra is symbolised by a circular flower with twelve green petals called the heartmind. Within it is a yantra of two intersecting triangles, forming a hexagram, symbolising a union of the male and female. The seed mantra is Yam, the presiding deity is Ishana Rudra Shiva, and the Shakti is Kakini. Anahata is related to the thymus, located in the chest. The thymus is an element of the immune system as well as being part of the endocrine system. It is the site of maturation of the T cells responsible for fending off disease and may be adversely affected by stress. Anahata is related to the colours green or pink. Key issues involving Anahata involve complex emotions, compassion, tenderness, unconditional love, equilibrium, rejection and well-being. Physically Anahata governs circulation, emotionally it governs unconditional love for the self and others, mentally it governs passion, and spiritually it governs devotion. Manipura Manipura, meaning “jewel city”, or solar plexus/navel chakra is symbolised by a downward pointing triangle with ten petals, along with the colour yellow. The seed syllable is Ram, and the presiding deity is Braddha Rudra, with Lakini as the Shakti. Manipura is related to the metabolic and digestive systems. Manipura is believed to correspond to Islets of Langerhans, which are groups of cells in the pancreas, as well as the outer adrenal glands and the adrenal cortex. These play a valuable role in digestion, the conversion of food matter into energy for the body. The colour that corresponds to Manipura is yellow. Key issues governed by Manipura are issues of personal power, fear, anxiety, opinion-formation, introversion, and transition from simple or base emotions to complex. Physically, Manipura governs digestion, mentally it governs personal power, emotionally it governs expansiveness, and spiritually, all matters of growth. Corresponding deity for material element of this chakra is Agni. Svadhishthana Svadhishthana, meaning “one’s own base”, or sacral chakra is symbolised by a white lotus within which is a crescent moon, with six vermilion, or orange petals. The seed mantra is Vam, and the presiding deity is Brahma, with the Shakti being Rakini (or Chakini). The animal associated is the crocodile of Varuna. This chakra is located in the sacrum and is considered to correspond to the testes or the ovaries that produce the various sex hormones involved in the reproductive cycle. Svadhishthana is also considered to be related to, more generally, the genitourinary system and the adrenals. The key issues involving Svadhishthana are relationships, violence, addictions, basic emotional needs, and pleasure. Physically, Svadhishthana governs reproduction, mentally it governs creativity, emotionally it governs joy, and spiritually it governs enthusiasm. Muladhara Muladhara, meaning "root support", or root chakra is symbolised by a lotus with four petals and the colour red. This centre is located at the base of the spine in the coccygeal region. It is said to relate to the gonads and the adrenal medulla, responsible for the fight-or-flight response when survival is under threat. Muladhara is related to instinct, security, survival, and also to basic human potentiality. Physically, Muladhara governs sexuality, mentally it governs stability, emotionally it governs sensuality, and spiritually it governs a sense of security. Muladhara also has a relation to the sense of smell. This chakra is where the three main nadi separate and begin their upward movement. Dormant Kundalini rests here, wrapped three and a half times around the black Svayambhu linga, the lowest of three obstructions to her full rising (also known as knots or granthis). It is the seat of the red bindu, the female drop (which in Tibetan vajrayana is located at the navel chakra). The seed syllable is Lam, the deity is Ganesh, and the Shakti is Dakini. The associated animal is the elephant. Healing sticks or wands are used to cure a variety of mental and physical ailments. Many alternative medicine practitioners swear by the effectiveness of these wands, and many more patients will readily testify to their greatness. Healing sticks work by channeling the energy of the stones the sticks are made from, and the energy of the person who wields them, into the patient to cure the specific targeted ailment. While the effectiveness of healing sticks has never been scientifically proven, they offer a lot of benefits nevertheless. At worst, a healing stick does nothing to cure the ailment, but it offers the patient hope, it gives comfort and makes the patient feel better, and when the patient feels better and more comfortable then it can only be good. I cannot stress enough that the patient must still follow their doctor's instructions.
And what if healing sticks really do have beneficial energy that the human eye cannot see? We do know, and this is something that science has proven, that certain crystals such as quartz resonate and vibrate under certain circumstances. They absorb energies and discharge energies. Crystals are mysterious things. We don't know everything about them. Humans have used crystals as medicines before we even knew what civilisation was, yet to this day we still believe in crystals more than ever. So crystals must work for a lot of people, it is the oldest belief and medicine in the history of the world. How to use a healing wand: Anyone can use a healing wand regardless of their level of expertise. The most simple and common wanding technique involves waving or circling the wand around any area which your energy field is in need of repair, with distance varying anywhere between touching the skin to being an inch or two from the body. Further basic techniques include poking the wand repeatedly on or around a desired target-point, or simply wearing the wand close-by. Find out what you are wanding.; first ask: 1. Where does it hurt? 2. How did it start? 3. How long has it hurt? Longer term and deeper issues generally takes longer to wand away, but sometimes results can be had quickly. Chronic issues tend to respond positively, but needs repeated wanding over days or weeks for best results. Techniques. Circling. Rotate your wanding hand in a clockwise direction. Hold wand tip about one inch from the skin. Three – four rotations per second is a good frequency for most people. For older people with weaker energy, you may want to begin slower starting at 1-2 rotations per second. Older people may respond slower as their bodies are usually of a higher toxicity level. Dipping. This is an “in-out” motion of approximately 3 inches with the wand tip coming close to the skin surface. It creates an energy wave penetrating deep into the body's bio-field. Dipping works well for deep issues and has a rejuvenating effect. Circle dip. A combination of circling and dipping usually with 3-4 circles, followed by 1-2 dips. Crosshatching. This is a simple back and forth motion with alternating directions. Up and down for ten seconds followed by back and forth for ten seconds and so on. This action tends to loosen up and allow for drainage of toxins. Always follow with circling to finish. Directional dipping. This is a swooping motion in the direction of energy flow. Tip-tapping. Gently tapping the area with the wand tip in a rapid manner will help people who are energy-deprived and toxic due to working in office buildings, using cell phones, or being exposed to unhealthy environments. Wanding a glass of water in a circular motion and drinking the water will aid in the cleansing process, as internal water molecules listen more effectively to the wand energy. When wanding a glass of water, contact between the wand and the water is not necessary and no more effective than circularly wanding above and around the water. Sidebrushing. Using the side of the wand to gently brush the skin back and forth. Choosing a pendulum is like choosing a new puppy or kitten – you can rarely go wrong. But there are still a lot of decisions to make. Do I pick a metal, gemstone, or crystal one? What shape do I need? How much do I spend? Will it work for me?
At Precision Pendulum, we guarantee that all our pendulums have gone through the most stringent quality checks before they are shipped out so that you have the peace of mind that the pendulum you get will be of the highest quality. First, let me give you some general details about pendulums. All metal pendulums are made by machines and, therefore, the shapes are constant and do not vary. The qualities of the work and material do vary, however. Shoddily made metal pendulums are not always symmetrical and do not balance, giving uneven swings when in use. Most metal pendulums have a brass alloy base, some of them are then plated in gold or silver. Bronze and copper pendulums are also common. As everything else, metals also have different qualities, as does the plating. Badly plated pendulums will have the surface flake off in no time. The terms “gemstone” and “crystal” are often interchangeable when referring to pendulums although they really are two different materials. In general, crystals are ones which have the glass-like appearance. Some are see-through most are not, but all have the mysterious I-can-almost-see-something-underneath-the-surface quality. Quartz is a crystal, for example. Gemstones are rocks, they look solid and there is no chance of seeing anything underneath. Their beauty is what you see on the surface, but it is a beauty which goes all the way through to the core, like lapis lazuli, for example. All gemstone/crystal pendulums are made by hand because machines cannot handle the delicate shaping process yet. For this reason, the sizes of gemstone/crystal pendulums vary, and because they are naturally formed materials, their colours also vary. There are no two gemstone/crystal pendulums which are exactly the same. Each one is unique in the world. Remember that a pendulum is made from precious stones or metals and there is a lot of work involved in making them. No one can sell a genuine one to you for peanuts. If they do, it means there is something wrong with the materials. It is especially popular in Asia to produce "gemstones" with synthetic materials which they dye and chemically treat to pass as real gemstones. Almost no pendulums coming out of China use real natural gemstones. The prices of genuine pendulums are generally pretty low anyway, why buy one that you will throw away in the end? The best shape for a pendulum is one which has a point at the bottom. Earth is the most powerful element on Earth. Life grows on earth, gravity pulls us firmly to earth, one way or another we will all end up back as one with earth. This is why the huge majority of pendulums have a pointy bit at the bottom, pointing down to earth. Other than that, the shape of a pendulum really is in the eye of the beholder. Now, how do you know which pendulum is best for you? Every one of us has a preconception of what beauty is. Every now and again we surprise ourselves by going out of this preconception. There is no difference here. Look at all the pendulums which attract your eyes right away. Do you feel anything? Which one is calling to you? Close your eyes, block everything out and picture it in your mind’s eyes. Is there a slight tingle? An almost undetectable tremor or warmth you know wasn’t there before? Give it a few seconds – anything? If not, move on to the next pendulum and repeat the process until you have found the one. Sometimes you know it is the one from the first moment you lay eyes on it. It is absolutely alright to feel a tingle with more than one pendulum. A pendulum will never get jealous if you get more than one. In fact, getting more than one will enhance the possibility of what you can do because pendulums have different properties. If you have tried every pendulum and still feel no tingle – fear not! Your pendulum isn’t choosing you – you just have to choose it! After all, you ARE the master. Pick one that you like best, one most pleasing to your eyes, one that you know you can love. Just remember that when picking a gemstone/crystal pendulum you will not get exactly the one in the picture as no two gemstone/crystal pendulums are exactly the same. This is when the pendulum picks you. From all the pendulums in stock at the retailer, the pendulum being sent to you gets picked. At random? By chance? Or is there a higher power connecting you to the pendulum? When you get you pendulum in the mail, look through it in detail. Examine all its unique characteristics and attributes. Yes, even metal pendulums made by machines will have their own unique characteristics and attributes. Sometimes you will connect right away with your pendulum. Sometimes it takes a little longer. Do not worry if it will work. You are the master, now make it obey. Sooner or later, it will always work. Happy Chinese New Year - this is year of the pooches, big and small. Every piece is unique, this is truly a piece of jewellery you can call your own and nobody else’s. In 2017, we also had a major offensive expansion campaign to promote our products. As a result, we saw our Canadian market grew by a massive 439%, our New Zealand market grew by 264%, and our Hong Kong market grew by 222% from 2016. At home in Australia, we grew by 66% in a market we have already dominated in several areas. The year forward In 2018, we plan to keep increasing our market share both domestically and internationally. Precision Pendulum will produce new lines starting with the 925 Sterling Silver range. We will keep increasing our ranges in the sections in which we are already dominant and we will look at new ways to increase our presence in the sections in which we are still growing. 2018 will be a very exciting year for us as we expect to reach a few new milestones. Love and peace. What a spectacular year it has been! And we have great plans for 2018.
